Beet Fritters

Recipe photo: Beet Fritters Boiled beet fritters are an original side dish to meat or a wonderful snack served with some kind of sauce. Due to the fact that the beets are used boiled, the fritters are soft, tender and juicy, and the taste is characterized by the sweetness of the beets. Original and budget-friendly!

Ingredients (for 3 servings)

Beets - 300 gr

Wheat flour - 2,5 tablespoons

Egg - 1 egg

Mayonnaise - 1 tablespoon

Salt - to taste

Ground black pepper - to taste

Vegetable oil (for frying) - 40 ml (2-3 tbsp.

Prepare the necessary ingredients.

Wash the beets thoroughly, put them in a saucepan, pour cold water over them, put them on the stove on high heat, and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to low and simmer the beets for about 40 minutes, until soft. There is no need to salt the water when boiling the beets.

Take the boiled beets out on a plate and cool at room temperature, then peel.

Grate the beets on a coarse grater.

To the grated beets add the egg, mayonnaise, salt and ground black pepper.

Stir it up.

Then add flour and mix again.

Heat a frying pan with vegetable oil. Spoon the beet mixture into the pan about 1-2 tbsp. at a time, forming thin flatbreads.

Fry the beet fritters on just below medium heat for about 2-3 minutes on each side.

Transfer the finished beet fritters from the pan to a napkin to soak up the excess oil, and in the meantime, fry the next batch.

Boiled beet fritters are ready.

Especially good such fritters in a warm form.
