Fritters with ham and cheese
The pizza-like ham and cheese pancakes are a great idea for a hearty breakfast or a quick snack. These pancakes are made with milk and are puffy and spongy thanks to the baking powder. Additives, cheese and ham, grated on the grater and thus more evenly distributed in the dough than diced. Ingredients (for 3 servings)
Ham - 80 g
Hard cheese - 70 g
Milk - 240 ml
Wheat flour - 200 g (1.5 cups of 200 ml)
Egg - 1 egg.
Sugar - 1 tsp.
Baking powder - 1 tsp.
Salt - 2 pinches
Ground black pepper - to taste
Vegetable oil (for frying) - 50 ml (3-4 tbsp.
Prepare the necessary ingredients.
I got 10 medium-sized pancakes from the amount given in the recipe.
Instead of ham, you can use sausage or sausage.
It is best to take the milk out of the fridge in advance - it should be room temperature.
Combine the milk, vegetable oil and egg in a bowl.
Thoroughly mix with a fork or whisk.
In the liquid base pour the dry ingredients: flour, baking powder, sugar, salt and ground black pepper.
Thoroughly mix the dough until homogeneous. It should be quite liquid and flow down from the whisk in a thin trickle.
Grate the ham on a coarse grater.
Grate the cheese, too, on a coarse grater.
Transfer the cheese and ham to the batter.
Spoon the additions into the dough and leave it at room temperature for 10 minutes, covering the bowl with a clean kitchen towel or clinging to plastic wrap.
Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan. Spoon the batter into the pan about 1.5 tbsp. at a time, forming round pancakes.
Fry the pancakes on just below medium heat for about 3 to 4 minutes on each side, until beautifully golden.
Remove the fritters and place them on a napkin to let the oil soak in, then fry another batch.
The flapjacks are very soft, with a tender brown crust.
Serve pancakes with ham and cheese to the table. With sour cream - just perfect!
Bon appetit
