Products

Potatoes - 250 gr

Milk (hot) - 250 ml + for working with dough

Eggs - 2 pcs.

Flour - 150 gr (1 cup of 250 ml)

Garlic - 1 clove

Green onions (optional) - to taste

Sugar - 1 tsp.

Salt - 1 pinch

Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoon

Prepare all the ingredients. Lard can be taken without a meat cut, inexpensive.

Peel the onion and garlic.

Cut the onion into 4 pieces, cut the lard into large pieces (to fit into the meat grinder's receiver).

Grind the garlic, bacon and onion in a meat grinder to a paste-like mass.

Peel potatoes, wash and grate on a grater with coarse holes.

Transfer the grated potatoes to a bowl.

Add the lard, garlic and onion to the potatoes, beat the egg. Add salt and ground pepper mixture.

Mix all the ingredients well with a spoon.

Pour oil into a heated frying pan. Turn down the heat to medium and spoon the mixture into oval pancakes.

Fry on medium heat for 3 to 4 minutes on each side. At first the mass seems to crumble, but after frying on one side the pancakes hold their shape well and are easy to flip with a spatula.

To get rid of excess oil, place the dumplings on a paper towel. Prepare the rest of the potato mixture with onion and lard in the same way.

The potato darniki with bacon is ready. Serve them if desired with fresh herbs and sauces to your taste: sour cream, tomato, garlic.

Potato derniki with this recipe is a great way to enjoy a meal!
