Potato pancakes with turnips

Recipe photo: Potato pancakes with turnip A simple recipe for potato lovers. Let's make slightly unusual potato dumplings - with turnips. This vegetable will give the usual potato pancakes a light sweet note and an interesting texture.

Ingredients (for 4 servings)

Potatoes (peeled) - 420 g (3 pcs.)

Turnips (peeled) - 290 g

Onions - 100 gr (1 unit)

Garlic - 15 gr (2-3 cloves)

Eggs - 2 pcs.

Flour - 75 g (2.5 tablespoons with a spoonful)

Salt - 0,5 tsp. (to taste)

Ground black pepper - a pinch (to taste)

Vegetable oil (for frying) - 60 ml (4 tablespoons

Prepare all the ingredients.

Peel the potatoes and grate them on a medium grater. Squeeze the potato chips from the juice (not too much).

Peel and grate turnips on a medium grater. Also squeeze the excess juice.

Grate potatoes and turnips in a bowl.

Peel onion and garlic, cut into small cubes and add to potatoes and turnips. Mix the vegetables.

Break the eggs, beat with a fork and add to the vegetables. Add salt and ground black pepper to taste.

Add sieved flour. Stir it in. It turns out a thick batter.

Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan. Spoon the vegetable mixture into the pan with a tablespoon (like pancakes). Fry the dumplings over medium heat for 2-3 minutes on each side, until crispy.

Place the fried dumplings on a paper towel to remove excess oil.

Do the same for the next batch. For the given amount of products, 13-14 potato pancakes are made.

Potato pancakes with turnip are ready.

Serve immediately, if you want supplementing with sour cream, ketchup, mayonnaise or other favorite sauce.
